Join LastPass as a Senior QA Engineer and ensure quality within your team. You will lead quality discussions, contribute to test planning, and oversee the overall quality. Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to define effective software quality verification strategies. Mentor junior QA team members and be involved in the full software development lifecycle. Develop high-quality test plans, integrate them into the regression testing framework, and maintain existing test cases. Design edge case test scenarios and create manual test cases for complex functionalities. Perform validation of new features and coordinate regression and exploratory testing cycles. Enhance existing automation suites and participate in release planning and execution.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar QA role, ideally within a diverse, cross-functional team
- Proven experience in designing complex and effective test cases
- Solid understanding of QA methodologies, best practices, and a genuine passion for delivering high-quality software
- Good understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) with the ability to identify areas for process improvement
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, TestRail, and GitLab
- Familiarity with technologies that support testing activities, including virtualization, testing infrastructure, and build systems
- Experience working across both macOS and Windows environments, with knowledge of Active Directory
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and collaborate effectively
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of testing software changes before release, proactively identifying issues, documenting results, and capturing any anomalies
- Create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and scenarios tailored to project needs
- Advocate for quality across your team and the broader organization
- Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to define effective strategies for verifying software quality
- Support your scrum team in building high-quality, reliable software
- Partner with the support team to assess and prioritize incoming issues based on severity and impact
- Mentor and support junior QA team members, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement
- Be actively involved in the full software development lifecycleโfrom requirements gathering through to release and beyond
- Develop high-quality test plans to assess the health and release readiness of new and existing features
- Integrate these test plans into the current regression testing framework
- Maintain and validate existing regression test cases to ensure accuracy and relevance
- Create and continuously improve internal technical documentation, test plans, test cases, and testing guidelines
- Design edge case test scenarios to expand the scope of current testing and identify potential issues early
- Create manual test cases for complex functionalities that are difficult to automate
- Explore features with a customer-centric mindset, focusing on user experience and real-world use cases
- Develop test cases for umbrella features that span multiple teams, ensuring comprehensive testing of cross-functional dependencies
- Perform validation of new features in production environments to confirm successful deployment
- Coordinate and execute full regression and exploratory testing cycles
- Support manual testing efforts across the teams as needed
- Enhance existing automation suites to include new features or adapt to changes
- Participate in release planning and execution to help ensure smooth delivery and high-quality outcomes
