Summary

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, with a preference for a master's degree in food science and experience in infant formula manufacturing. You will be responsible for maintaining supplier quality scorecards, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and developing a supplier development program. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in quality assurance, master’s degree in food science or similar preferred
  • Broad experience in Quality Management Systems and Supply Chain Controls
  • Knowledge in HACCP, with applied experience in industrial microbiology, Good Manufacturing Practices, preventative controls, hygienic design and auditing
  • Experience with thermal processes and associated controls
  • Capable of managing projects with minimal direction
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in fundamentals of risk management
  • Project management, administrative and technical capabilities are required, as well as effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient writing skills to support audit reporting and writing of standards
  • Competent in computer systems and database entry: ERP, MS Office
  • Basic statistical understanding
  • Ability to travel 50%

Responsibilities

  • Conduct audits of all current and potential suppliers, distribution centers and third-party manufacturers
  • Responsible for maintaining and supplier Quality scorecards
  • Manage and implement initiatives for continuous improvement across the supplier portfolio
  • Responsible for development and rollout of Supplier Development program which includes Supplier Feedback loop
  • Improved supplier performance through collaboration, transparency, and supplier accountability
  • Best practices and exchange of case studies and emerging trends
  • Maintain and update Supplier Quality standards, responsible for consistent rollout of standards suppliers
  • Serve as the central point of contact between external manufacturers and internal stakeholders for deviations & investigations and audit observations
  • Broad analytical skills to interpret and leverage supplier quality databases
  • Consolidate and organize supplier quality performance metrics, associated data, and any supplier change through use of eQMS systems and information for use during periodical supplier performance review meetings
  • Support Procurement with periodic performance reviews and key suppliers and implement quality improvement plans w/ quantifiable targets
  • With partner cross functionally to strategically influence supplier selection and operational performance
  • Drive supplier defect containment and nonconformance reduction activities
  • Liaise with Quality team at the manufacturing sites for supplier related quality issues, partner with supplier ensure corrective actions are identified and implemented to prevent reoccurrence
  • Support Procurement, Legal, R&D and Operations to resolve any Supplier related disputes, recovery plans and corrective actions
  • Partner with Food Safety to support rollout of specification changes
  • Provide support and assist with the management of both supplier and ByHeart initiated innovation, specifications, and change controls
  • Quality lead in all innovation projects, partner with R&D and Operations to build product and technology innovation pipeline
  • Ensure compliance with quality agreements, certifications, Closer to Zero initiatives, and Clean Label Project requirements

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in manufacturing, infant formula preferred
