Summary

Join Instructure's finance team as a Senior Revenue Accountant and play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate revenue recognition and compliance. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA or equivalent certification required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in revenue accounting, preferably within the software industry and public accounting
  • Thorough understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition guidelines
  • Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (Netsuite)

Responsibilities

  • Perform revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 guidelines, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Analyze contracts, agreements, and sales arrangements to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Legal, and Operations to review and assess revenue implications of new deals and offerings
  • Prepare and maintain documentation supporting revenue recognition policies and procedures
  • Assist in the implementation and enhancement of revenue recognition software and systems
  • Conduct periodic reviews and reconciliations of revenue-related accounts
  • Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations related to revenue recognition
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment
