Senior Revenue Accountant

Summary

Join Dialpad as a Senior Revenue Accountant and drive the end-to-end revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and ASC 606. Partner with the billing team for accurate revenue recording and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define processes for credits, amendments, and non-standard contract terms. Develop strategies to improve revenue management accuracy and timeliness, implement internal finance controls, and enhance technical tools. Work proactively with executive management on new business arrangements and assist in ad-hoc accounting activities. This role requires 4+ years of experience in revenue accounting with strong US GAAP knowledge and understanding of ASC 606 and the SaaS revenue model. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.

Requirements

• Be a Senior Revenue Accountant with 4+ years of experience
• Have a proven track record of supporting US based teams
• Possess strong knowledge of US GAAP
• Possess an understanding of both ASC 606 and the SaaS revenue model
• Have a minimum of 2 years in revenue accounting
• Possess strong communication skills
• Have the ability to build relationships among multiple teams within a physically remote environment
• Have great attention to detail
• Have a passion for meeting and beating deadlines with an energy to drive tasks to completion
• Work hours will follow US Pacific Time zone

Responsibilities

• Oversee and contribute to the Company's revenue recognition framework by completing month-end revenue recognition posting and reconciliations
• Partner with Billing team to ensure accurate data inputs and understanding of revenue sources for accurate revenue posting
• Execute the SaaS revenue recognition accounting model within the respective systems and tools, including executing the process of our month-end accounting close for SaaS, usage revenue and Professional. Services revenue as well the necessary entries for the allowance for doubtful accounts and bad debts
• Develop new strategies to improve accuracy and timeliness of revenue management
• Develop internal finance controls based on industry best practices
• Direct the continued implementation and improvement of technical tools to reduce manual business processes
• Work with the cross-functional team on new product introduction and revenue recognition considerations
• Work pro-actively with executive management on new business arrangements and related revenue recognition considerations
• Assist in other ad-hoc revenue related accounting activities
