Senior Software Development Engineer in Test in India

Summary

WeatherBug is a popular weather site and mobile app that provides hyperlocal, live weather data and proactive alerting to consumers. They are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to join their team, which will involve designing, architecting, and executing automated test cases for WeatherBug’s mobile and web applications. The role is based in Gurugram or remotely in India, with core work hours from 8:30 pm to 12:30 am IST. Candidates must have a BS degree in Computer Science, 6+ years of experience in software quality assurance, and 5+ years of software engineering experience with a programming language such as Python or Javascript.

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science (or related field)
• 6+ years of experience in software quality assurance
• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a programming language such as Python or Javascript
• 5+ years using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, Artifactory, XCode, Android Studio, Appium, Charles, Python
• 5+ years using iOS/Android/Web test automation technologies
• 5+ years using git or other distributed source control systems
• Prior experience with agile development, continuous delivery, and DevOps

Responsibilities

• Design, architect and execute automated test cases based on test plans for WeatherBug’s mobile and web applications
• Participate with the team to create short term and long-term test automation objectives
• Provide estimates of task execution duration
• Perform manual testing to validate new features on mobile and web applications

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters, post-graduate, or doctorate in Computer Science or a related field
• Knowledge of the weather industry
• Experience, in general, in the advertising industry
• Experience with react-native
