Senior Software Engineer, Developer Experience

Summary

Join Vanta's Developer Experience team and build tools that empower engineers to bring ideas to production rapidly and reliably. You will set direction for critical development infrastructure, design and build CI/CD systems, improve deployment workflows, and lead the development of tools that accelerate feedback loops. Responsibilities include building and maintaining scalable development environments and introducing AI-enhanced developer tools. You will work with talented engineers to make a significant impact on Vanta's customer base and contribute to building Vanta's engineering culture. This role requires technical leadership experience on DevEx or platform teams, experience with build systems, CI/CD, and scaling developer workflows. A passion for performance, reliability, and usability is essential.

Requirements

• You’ve played technical leadership roles on DevEx or platform teams
• You have experience with build systems, CI/CD, and scaling developer workflows in fast-growing environments
• You care deeply about performance, reliability, and usability, especially in tools used daily by engineers
• You’re thoughtful about trade-offs and have good product sense when building internal tools

Responsibilities

• Set direction for critical dev infrastructure, enabling us to stay ahead of continued rapid growth
• Design and build CI and build systems that ensure Vanta engineers can develop and ship robust products quickly and confidently
• Improve the efficiency and reliability of our deployment workflows, including tools for hotfixes, rollbacks, and incident mitigation
• Lead development of tools that accelerate feedback loops — from typechecking and linting to running tests and deploying changes
• Build and maintain scalable development environments, test infrastructure, and core dev tooling
• Introduce and scale AI-enhanced developer tools that help engineers move faster, write better code, and reduce toil
• Work with talented and kind engineers to make a significant impact on our customer base, enabling them to improve their security and prove it
• Contribute to building Vanta’s engineering culture as we grow
