Senior Software Engineer, Developer Experience

Summary

Join Vanta's Developer Experience team and build the tools engineers use daily to bring ideas to production rapidly and reliably. Work on projects like modernizing CI/CD pipelines, introducing new test frameworks, launching AI-powered dev tools, and scaling developer environments. This role has a wide impact across product engineering, making it easier for engineers to diagnose and solve bugs, streamline workflows, and ship value to customers quickly and safely. Vanta engineers use TypeScript, React, Node.js, MongoDB, Github Actions, and various AWS services. Contribute to building Vanta’s engineering culture as we grow. Requirements

• You’ve played technical leadership roles on DevEx or platform teams
• You have experience with build systems, CI/CD, and scaling developer workflows in fast-growing environments
• You care deeply about performance, reliability, and usability, especially in tools used daily by engineers
• You’re thoughtful about trade-offs and have good product sense when building internal tools

Responsibilities

• Set direction for critical dev infrastructure, enabling us to stay ahead of continued rapid growth
• Design and build CI and build systems that ensure Vanta engineers can develop and ship robust products quickly and confidently
• Improve the efficiency and reliability of our deployment workflows, including tools for hotfixes, rollbacks, and incident mitigation
• Lead development of tools that accelerate feedback loops — from typechecking and linting to running tests and deploying changes
• Build and maintain scalable development environments, test infrastructure, and core dev tooling
• Introduce and scale AI-enhanced developer tools that help engineers move faster, write better code, and reduce toil
• Work with talented and kind engineers to make a significant impact on our customer base, enabling them to improve their security and prove it
• Contribute to building Vanta’s engineering culture as we grow
