Senior Sql Server Developer

Summary

Join Third Eye Software as a Senior SQL Server Developer to contribute to a critical initiative within a large financial services organization. This remote, contract position (W2, C2C) requires strong SQL Server expertise, focusing on performance optimization and rewriting complex queries. You will collaborate with a seasoned SQL Server performance SME. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in SQL Server development, performance tuning, and database architecture. Requirements

• 7+ years of SQL Server development and administration
• 5+ years focused on SQL Server performance tuning and internals
• Strong experience with SQL Server Optimizer, execution plans, indexing strategies, and diagnosing latching/blocking issues
• Proven ability to work in high-parallel query execution environments
• Knowledge of the SQL SOS (operating systems), thread scheduler and of how the statistics based optimizer works
• Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical leads

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize SQL queries for performance, ensuring high efficiency and scalability
• Identify slow-running queries and suggest appropriate optimizations
• Refactor and rewrite poorly performing SQL queries into efficient, scalable, and optimized code
• Expert-level knowledge of SQL optimizer with proven performance rewrites
• Detailed understanding of the design and implementation of robust and scalable database architectures for high-performance systems
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert to find suboptimal queries and rewrite them for performance without affecting business logic

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SSMS
• Experience with Query execution plan analysis
• Experience with SQL Profiler, Extended Events
• Experience with Dynamic Management Views (DMVs)
• Experience with Performance monitoring tools (PerfMon, Redgate, etc.)
