Summary
Join Oportun, a mission-driven fintech, as a Business Strategy Analyst to contribute to the growth of our Secured Personal Loans product. You will support business analysis, conduct performance analysis, improve forecasting processes, and communicate insights to stakeholders. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in data analysis tools, and excellent communication abilities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams on strategic initiatives and develop data-driven strategies to enhance member service. The ideal candidate possesses a proven track record in business strategy or data analysis, along with relevant experience and a strong academic background.
Requirements
- Proven 7 years of experience as a Business Strategy Analyst or in solving complex problems with data analysis tools, or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Statistics, Data Analysis, Mathematics, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field, and 5 years of relevant experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
- Proficiency in data analysis tools SQL, Power BI, Excel and Phyton
- Proficiency with data management, statistical analysis, and data visualization
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, storytelling with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interact effectively with stakeholders at all level
Responsibilities
- Support business analysis to provide context on business performance and identify improvement opportunities
- Conduct detailed analysis of business data to uncover trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
- Improve and maintain the current forecast process, including refining forecasting models and implementing process efficiencies to streamline forecasting timelines and deliverables
- Produce originations’ forecasts and outlooks to guide business planning and strategy
- Prepare materials and lead meetings to explain findings and recommendations to various stakeholders, including senior management
- Share business trends and insights with the multifunctional team through comprehensive business reviews
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategic initiatives that drive business growth and efficiency
- Support the implementation and monitoring of strategic projects and initiatives
- Utilize data analysis tools and methodologies to extract actionable insights from complex datasets
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics
- Prepare materials and lead meetings to explain findings and recommendations
- Share business trends and insights with the multifunctional team through comprehensive business reviews
