Summary

Join Abacus as a Sr. Systems Engineer and contribute to the architecture and maintenance of our data center platform for financial services clients. Leveraging your expertise in virtualization and emerging best practices, you will enhance our team's technical capabilities. This role focuses on solution design and implementation, not basic administration. You will be a key member of our core infrastructure team, creating client-specific solutions while ensuring organizational transparency and supportability. You will work collaboratively within a team and independently to solve complex problems. The position requires strong technical skills and experience in various technologies.

Requirements

  • Strong technical skills in Citrix Netscaler
  • Strong technical skills in Vmware ESXi/vCenter
  • Strong technical skills in Azure (Cloud Technologies)
  • Strong technical skills in Storage (PureStorage/Nimble)
  • Strong technical skills in Proxmox VE
  • Strong technical skills in CheckMK
  • Strong technical skills in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops
  • Strong technical skills in Linux
  • Be a highly logical thinker and skilled in identifying root cause and solutions
  • Be able to work both independently and in project teams
  • Be able to work under pressure and with short deadlines
  • Be able to mitigate risk and engage other team members when needed
  • Have availability to occasionally work nights and some weekends
  • Strong technical skills with public cloud technologies, Azure specifically
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in a system engineering role
  • Understanding of Remote Access/Delivery Platforms (RemoteApp, AVD, XenDesktop)
  • Be able to work EST hours

Responsibilities

  • Scope, implement and support new technology projects/initiatives/onboardings
  • Management of various multi-tenant platforms in a team environment
  • Respond and action alerts from centralized management system
  • Work with remote support teams and respond to escalated issues in a timely fashion
  • Provide off hours support on a rotating schedule every 1-2 months

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications (Azure Expert, MCSE, VCP, CCP)
  • MSP experience
