Summary
Join iT1's Managed Services Division as a Sr. Systems Engineer, Infrastructure, supporting clients 24/7. You will provide technical expertise, resolving incidents and problems across various systems (Windows, Unix, Linux servers, network devices). Responsibilities include planning, implementing, and maintaining IT infrastructure, advising on system enhancements, and developing system reports. You will serve as a technical expert for assigned clients, collaborating with leadership and sales teams. On-call rotation is required. This remote position offers a Sunday-Thursday schedule (4:00 am - 12:30 pm AZ).
Requirements
- Bachelorβs Degree in Information Technology or related experience
- Ability to represent the organization in a professional and effective manner
- Established track record as a senior engineer in various technologies (Linux/Windows Servers, Citrix, Data Center, and Client/Server Application Support)
- Managing Windows systems, including, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012 R2
- Microsoft enterprise services such as: Active Directory, Windows Servers, physical and virtual, Microsoft Exchange, Windows desktops, physical and virtual, DNS, DHCP
- Cloud platforms and IaaS technologies
- Microsoft Azure
- Office 365
- Experience working with virtual infrastructure required
- Citrix XenDesktop, XenApp, XenMobile, NetScaler, etc
- VMware vSphere, vCenter, Horizon\View, vRealize Operations, NSX, vSAN, vCloud, etc
- Microsoft Hyper-V, App-V, etc
- Experience with Enterprise Backup software (NetBackup, Commvault, Veeam)
- Experience with large scale datacenter operations
- Experience migrating large infrastructures from physical to virtual environments
- Experience with blade and standalone servers from Dell, HP, Cisco, etc
- Experience utilizing VBScript and/or PowerShell to automate systems management, deployment, and implementation functions
- Network and server monitoring tools (Logic Monitor, Solar Winds)
Responsibilities
- Support iT1 Customers in our 24x7x365 Managed Services Division
- Provide assistance with support, incident management, problem management and change management for devices and resources monitored by iT1 Managed Services, including Windows, Unix, Linux servers, network devices and applications as well as other supported configuration items for internal and client systems
- Research, resolve, and respond to internal and client issues within scope of the Managed Services responsibilities in a timely manner, these include but are not limited to user/system support, ticketing system entries, and client facing status updates, etc
- Plan, strategize, analyze, modify, implement, document, enhance, and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure systems
- Advise on enhancements for corporate systems design and components; perform critical evaluation and selection of the hardware components of the solution
- Proactively identify and correct systems issues, performance, storage, network, application, backup, and recovery
- Develop systems reports on the health and status of the systems
- Maintain all documentation pertaining to projects, solutions, and associated systems
- Serve as the technical subject matter expert for assigned client environments
- Maintain a close working relationship with Leadership, Sales team, and Client Success Managers
- Attend monthly and quarterly client meetings
- Act as an escalation contact for junior engineers
- On-call rotation
- Perform other related duties as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an IT consulting role
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with ability to multitask and prioritize
- Excellent customer service skills and verbal/written communication skill
- Ability to execute tasks, projects, and troubleshooting with minimal supervision
- Experience with using and/or modifying JSON scripts
- Good documentation skills
- Ability to accurately follow written technical work instructions
- Able to work in a structured environment
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation
- Citrix Certified Associate (CCA)
- Citrix Certified Professional (CCP)
- Microsoft Certified: Window Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
- Microsoft Azure Administrator
