You will be responsible for all day-to-day tax functions, including preparing tax returns, validating the accuracy of the tax engine, supporting the accounting closing process, and participating in the external audit process. Requirements
- Excellent spoken and written English is a must
- Advanced Excel is a must
- Tax experience in Value Added Tax, Corporate Income Tax and Tax Withholdings is a must
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a tax position
Responsibilities
- This role will be responsible for all day-to-day tax functions
- Preparing the relevant information for monthly, quarterly and annual tax return filings and government requirements
- Validating the accuracy of the tax engine, addressing and following up any possible issue with the IT team
- Supporting in the accounting closing process, to accomplish month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures for key balance sheet and income statement tax accounts (including preparing journal entries and accounts reconciliations)
- Preparing the monthly invoicing information of the different sales channels
- Participating in the external audit process, providing all the documentation related to taxes to the auditors on time
- Supporting potential tax audits and following up with tax advisors any correspondence received from the tax authority
- Supporting in new Tax, Corporate Structure or new businesses projects
- Supporting other administrative tasks related to the tax department
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferably experience in international taxes and knowledge of tax treaties applications
- US and Uruguayan tax knowledge is a plus
- General understanding of Transfer Pricing rules is desirable
- Big Four experience as Tax Consultant + tax experience in a Multinational Company will be valued
- Ecommerce and retail experience is a plus
- Experience using Netsuite or another ERP is a plus
- Experience using Shopify, BigCommerce or Amazon platform is a plus
