Senior Team Lead - Search Curation

Summary

Join Lyft's Data Curation Operations team as a Search Curation Team Lead and contribute to enhancing the user search experience within the Lyft app and other services. Requirements

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience as a team lead or similar role (preferably managing data curation or customer service teams)
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Intermediate proficiency in SQL
• Passion for delivering great customer experiences with a strong track record. Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities
• Self-directed and organized, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to prioritize multiple competing workflows. Knows when to ask for support and takes initiative
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Ukrainian. Ability to adapt communication style for different stakeholders and proactively share updates
• Team player with a positive and collaborative approach, supporting team brainstorming and stakeholder communication
• Ability to coach and develop team members within the organization
• Comfortable learning and using new processes, systems, and tools, including data labeling tools and Google Workspace products

Responsibilities

• Manage curation projects from start to finish, including high-ambiguity and complex initiatives
• Lead the team responsible for investigating poor search experiences, assisting Engineering and Product teams through experimentation and new feature launches. Drive continuous improvement in team processes
• Develop project strategy aligned with company goals, defining team roadmaps and identifying opportunities for increased efficiency. Define metrics for curation initiatives in collaboration with partners
• Proactively identify and resolve issues, advocate for resources, and develop creative solutions
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of the business impact of projects, effectively scope opportunities, and initiate new projects based on business priorities and product impact
• Manage changes effectively and professionally, implementing process improvements and collaborating proactively with partners
• Build strong cross-functional relationships, leveraging insights to inform partner decisions and optimize curation quality and efficiency. Work with senior leadership to address blockers, risks, and open questions on time
• Set performance expectations, provide regular feedback, conduct performance reviews, and foster a positive and inclusive team environment
• Participate in the interview process as needed, in consultation with recruiting and people teams, following best practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in mapping, cartography and any related fields. Experience using Open Street Map
• Experience with data entry or data labeling
• Experience working with vendors and partners
• Tech background: Python
• Experience with Jira
