Senior Technical Artist

Requirements

• Expertise in shader development and optimization
• VFX optimization
• Highly organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize
• Keen problem solver with an eye for detail and efficiency
• Expertise in Unreal engine
• Confident and clear communicator
• Proven track record of real time shader work in Console, PC, or VR

Responsibilities

• Shader development: Create, refine, and iterate on shaders and master materials within Unreal Engine's node graph and HLSL shader code, ensuring they are built in a user-friendly way for the art team
• Shader optimization and profiling: Experienced in optimizing shaders across multiple platforms, including mobile, to enhance memory usage and performance
• VFX Optimization: Provide technical support and guidance for the creation and optimization of VFX, with expertise in Niagara
• Work with counterparts on the engineering and art teams, guiding feature development accessibility
• Consult other disciplines (e.g. programmers, artists, designers), seeking feedback before and after implementation
• Champion the tech art requirements for the studio
• Create scope for others, break down work to be undertaken in parallel, calling out dependencies and review points
• Improve the efficiency and/or developer experience of other staff, via software or process
