Summary

Join a remote, six-month contract position (with potential for extension or full-time conversion) as a Senior Technical Sourcer at an AI startup. Develop and implement innovative sourcing strategies to attract top AI/ML talent, particularly those with PhD/postdoc backgrounds. Utilize advanced Boolean search techniques and various sourcing platforms. Conduct in-depth research on the academic AI/ML ecosystem. Create compelling outreach messages. Manage multiple searches, prioritize efforts, and maintain organization. Build and nurture long-term candidate relationships. Collaborate with hiring managers and the recruitment team. Maintain accurate records in the ATS. This role requires 3+ years of experience in technical sourcing/recruiting.

Requirements

  • 3 + years in technical sourcing/recruiting (research, engineering, scientific roles)
  • Proven success finding PhD/postdoc talent in ML/AI or related fields
  • Deep knowledge of the academic AI/ML ecosystem (conferences, journals, top institutions)
  • Expert Boolean search skills and familiarity with sourcing platforms (HireEZ, Gem, etc.)
  • Excellent written & verbal communication—able to translate mission and tech concepts into compelling outreach
  • Genuine passion for AI safety and alignment
  • Comfort in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple searches simultaneously
  • Strong relationship-building chops—nurturing long-lead candidates over time
  • Meticulous organizational skills and ATS proficiency for tracking pipelines and metrics

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement innovative sourcing strategies to identify and attract top AI/ML talent, particularly those with PhD/postdoc backgrounds
  • Utilize advanced Boolean search techniques and leverage various sourcing platforms (e.g., HireEZ, Gem) to build a robust pipeline of qualified candidates
  • Conduct in-depth research on the academic AI/ML ecosystem, including monitoring relevant conferences, journals, and top institutions to identify potential candidates
  • Create and optimize compelling outreach messages that effectively communicate the company's mission and technical concepts to potential candidates
  • Manage multiple concurrent searches, prioritizing efforts based on business needs and maintaining a high level of organization
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with potential candidates, keeping them engaged throughout extended recruitment processes
  • Collaborate closely with hiring managers and the broader recruitment team to understand technical requirements and refine search strategies
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to ensure efficient pipeline management and reporting
