Summary

Join Blink's Embedded practice as a Senior UX Designer and work remotely within the United States on a long-term basis for one of the worldโ€™s top alternative investment firms. You will be embedded in finance and operations engineering squads, focusing on internal tools for critical business workflows. The role involves simplifying complex systems, clarifying dense data, and delivering elegant user experiences. You will help shape the UX practice within the organization, advocating for user-centered design and developing internal processes. This position requires 5โ€“8+ years of UX design experience, strong UX fundamentals, and a sharp eye for visual design. A strong portfolio showcasing problem-solving skills is essential. The salary range is $160,000 - $180,000 a year.

Requirements

  • Have 5โ€“8+ years of experience in UX design, including enterprise software or internal tooling
  • Possess strong UX fundamentals and a track record of using research (formal or scrappy) to inform design decisions
  • Have a sharp eye for visual design: layout, typography, hierarchy, and attention to detail matter here
  • Be confident working closely with engineers and PMsโ€”especially in environments where user-centered thinking needs strong advocacy
  • Have an exceptional portfolio that shows how you solve problems...not just how things look when they ship
  • Treat clarity and simplicity as a form of respect for users
  • Be comfortable advocating the case for user-centered design and finding shared ground in environments where technology is the native language
  • Care deeply about craft and sweat the details others overlook
  • Understand how to balance business requirements while advocating for user needs

Responsibilities

  • Be embedded in our finance and operations engineering squads, working on internal tools that power critical business workflows
  • Raise the bar across the board: simplifying complex systems, clarifying dense data, and delivering experiences that feel well-considered, elegant, and purposeful
  • Help shape the UX practice by advocating for users, developing internal processes that make design a co-equal partner with product and engineering, upholding quality in environments that default to speed, and bringing visual clarity to systems where precision and trust really matter

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have experience working independently or on a small in-house design team to stand up a new design function and design-focused culture
  • Have familiarity with finance, data-heavy interfaces, or business operations
