Senior Wordpress Engineer

Join Housecall Pro, a fintech company that provides a SaaS platform for home service professionals, as a Senior Software Engineer - WordPress. In this remote role, you will manage WordPress environments for all brand sites, ensuring optimal performance and user experience. You will work closely with various teams to optimize content, conduct A/B testing, and implement strategies for website growth. You will also be responsible for building new sites, components, and pages using Advanced Custom Fields in WordPress, creating prototypes, and supporting website testing plans. Requirements

• 4+ years of professional programming experience (RoR, PHP)
• Advanced knowledge of Javascript and development tools and libraries
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering program, or equivalent work experience
• Experience working on a website built with a CMS (i.e. Wordpress, Strapi, Contentful)
• Strong understanding of building and consuming REST API’s
• Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Knowledge of performance optimization techniques, caching mechanisms, and content delivery networks (CDNs)

Responsibilities

• Monitor and troubleshoot website issues related to SEO and user experience
• Use A/B testing tools to measure and report on the performance of experiments
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Conduct code reviews and architectural reviews for features developed by other members of the team
• Build new sites, components, and pages using Advanced Custom Fields in WordPress
• Create prototype mockups for web pages, promos, and forms
• Support website testing plans to increase website and full funnel conversions
• Establish documentation for best practices around plugin requirements, deployment processes, and site security
• Monitor plugin and theme security vulnerabilities, and run quality assurance / deploy content for production
• Run weekly updates and manage backend administration: DNS, Website Routing, and Security
• Handle gated content (download, upload, create CTAs) and conversion points to access content
• Manage conversion data via cross-functional teams and databases

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with experimentation tools (Amplitude, Mixpanel, etc)
• Experience with Advanced Custom Fields or similar tools
• Fluency with modern JavaScript
• Excellent communication skills - you are working with a dispersed team, so first-class communication is a must
