Summary

Join Legal Templates, a leading US SaaS legal-tech company, as a talented content writer. You will create compelling, high-performing content, including at least four 1000-2000 word articles per week, focusing on SEO and user intent. The role requires proficiency in keyword research, legal research, and content optimization within WordPress. You will work closely with the Content Marketing Manager and collaborate with a global team. This fully remote position offers flexibility in scheduling and a competitive compensation package, including comprehensive healthcare and paid time off.

Requirements

  • Based in Canada or the USA (no visa sponsorship required)
  • Degree in Communications, English, Marketing, or other related fields. Certificates in digital marketing are also sufficient
  • Experience as a content writer (at least 2 years) with a portfolio showcasing your writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Proven ability to create and optimize content for SEO, including keyword research, targeting, and metadata refinement
  • Solid understanding of WordPress and proficiency with Google Docs
  • Familiarity with SEMRush, Ahrefs, Ubersuggest, or other keyword research tools
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills

Responsibilities

  • Be proficient in our SEO and editorial guidelines: Quickly learn and apply our SEO best practices, editorial processes, and brand voice to create cohesive and compelling content
  • Nerd out on research: Perform thorough competitor, keyword, and legal research to create outlines for form pages and Resource articles. The best candidate will not just grin and bear it through researching, but will actually thrive in this part of content creation
  • Write and optimize content: Create new content and update existing pages, focusing on creating content that completely fulfills the user's intent and leads the user into the conversion funnel
  • Explain complex topics simply: Our content aims to explain complicated legalese in a way that the average individual can understand
  • Stay open to feedback: Be coachable, flexible, and eager to refine your craft based on input from editors and legal experts
  • Be willing to learn continuously: SEO is constantly changing, which means we have to stay on top of readings and learnings as Google and LLMs change the game
  • Format and publish content in WordPress: Input, format, QA, and publish content within WordPress
  • Respect the data and understand the user: Writing the best possible content means using tools like SEMRush, Ahrefs, and Google Search Console to get a clear picture of what content works for users and where we can improve
  • Be comfortable working with team members virtually. We are a global team that spans multiple time zones in North America and Europe. Depending on their time zone, team members might not be available for immediate feedback

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with legal content or in the legal field is an asset
