SEO Copywriter

Join Canva's team and help redefine the world's design experience. This remote contract/freelance SEO Copywriter position is based in Japan and focuses on creating high-quality content for Canva's Japanese blog and website. You will conduct SEO and competitor research, write long-form articles, and ensure content aligns with Canva's brand voice and SEO requirements. The role requires native-level Japanese and business-level English, excellent writing skills, and the ability to meet deadlines. Flexibility and remote work are key aspects of this position, allowing you to work from anywhere in Japan. Requirements

• Be a native-Japanese speaker with business-level English
• Have an excellent grasp of the Japanese language - technically strong with a flair for either structured or creative style of writing (including spelling and grammatical structure)
• Be meticulous with details, style, and tone, writing with clarity and empathy to deliver what is needed
• Be quick with ideas, coming up with original copy that can catch our user’s eye, but can still match Canva’s voice and brand guidelines
• Have an eye for social trends in Japan and the evolving language that comes with them
• Be able to understand a brief from stakeholders, research accordingly, and convert that brief into excellent landing page copy to meet the project’s needs

Responsibilities

• Create unique and well-researched articles relevant to the designated landing page
• Ensure each output adheres to the specified word count and SEO requirements and adapt to Canva’s friendly and informative tone
• Consistently meet the required minimum output by the specified deadline
• Work remotely and report to Canva’s Japan SEO Team for copywriting projects
• Consistently meet a 90% weekly output quality rating
