Service Systems Specialist I in United States

Summary

The Service Systems Specialist is responsible for conducting preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, and general servicing of systems under minimal supervision. They perform start-up, checking, testing, system diagnostics, and commissioning for small to medium sized new or retrofit projects. The specialist also provides emergency service and response to customer sites as dispatched, and troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs control components and controls systems. They load and update software on network controllers, field controllers, computers, and servers, and write programming software and graphics using various programming languages and software.

Requirements

• Requires extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital control systems
• Vocational School four-year program graduate or an Associate’s degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field
• Two to four years of increasingly responsible experience in servicing electronic controls and HVAC equipment
• Effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts ethically and professionally
• Must have experience in writing as well as demonstrated understanding of computer programs and software applications as related to the HVAC Industry

Responsibilities

• Conducts preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, and general servicing of systems
• Performs start up, checking, testing, system diagnostics and commissioning from system-level controllers to end devices for small to medium sized new or retrofit projects
• Provides emergency service and response to customer sites as dispatched
• Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs control components and controls systems
• Loads and updates software on network controllers, field controllers, computers, and servers
• Writes, creates, loads, tests and commissions programming software and graphics utilizing various programming languages and software
• Communicates with customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site
