Summary

Join Mercari as a Shipping Product Manager and build and scale logistical practices to process more transactions daily. You will identify and build capabilities to improve the shipping experience, leading a team of engineers and designers. Responsibilities include managing product roadmaps, sprints, and driving the team towards goals. You will set complex short and long-term strategies and communicate updates to stakeholders. Remote work is permitted within the U.S. Multiple openings are available with varying salary zones based on location.

Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Software Engineering, Statistics, Quantitative Management, Mathematics or a related field of study and five (5) years of experience as a Shipping Product Manager, Product Manager, Program Manager, Facilities Managers, Business Analyst or a closely related occupation
  • Masterโ€™s degree in stated fields and three (3) years of stated experience
  • Three (3) years of experience in E-commerce logistics and API integrations
  • Three (3) years of experience in Using data and metrics to inform decision-making with Looker, Tableau, A/B testing, SQL, other BI tools or similar technologies
  • Three (3) years of experience in Understanding of nuanced shipping carrier regulations and data
  • Three (3) years of experience in Working with machine learning to build robust suggestions and prediction models using data
  • Three (3) years of experience in Working directly with shipping carrier partners
  • Three (3) years of experience in Closely collaborating with UI/UX Designers

Responsibilities

  • Build and scale logistical practices to process more transactions per day while working to democratize selling by minimizing the hassles and confusions of the shipping process
  • Identify and build capabilities that improve the quality of the shipping experience in which leads to improvements in efficiency, speed, and cost
  • Lead a team of Engineers and Designers in helping to maintain the roadmap of each product, managing sprints, and driving the team toward achieving goals
  • Drive day to day execution of product initiatives that align with short, medium, and long-term strategy while communicating updates to all relevant stakeholders
  • Responsible for setting complex short and long-term strategies with far reaching impact for an entire product team
