Remote Site Reliability Engineer

Summary

Join Arista Networks as a Site Reliability Engineer and play an active role in the early rollout of internal and customer-facing services. As an SRE, you will combine software and systems engineering to build and run high-performance systems, optimizing capacity and performance at all times.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field involving software/systems engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience programming in the following languages: Go and Python
• Experience in operating a cloud-based SaaS
• Expertise in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
• Experience with Jenkins, Docker, K8s
• Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks
• Understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems

Responsibilities

• Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design, deployment, operation, and refinement
• Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and launch reviews
• Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health
• Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation; evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity
• Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems
