Summary

Join SureStart, an AI/ML and Data Science education startup, as a part-time remote Social Media & Event Marketing Specialist. You will manage social media platforms for SureStart and its CEO, develop and implement marketing strategies, and identify impactful education events. The ideal candidate is a creative, detail-oriented marketer skilled in storytelling. This is a 20-hour per week position with the potential to become full-time, offering competitive pay based on experience. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in social media management, event planning, or marketing
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and analytics tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative mindset with the ability to produce visually appealing content
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and familiarity with event platforms (e.g., Eventbrite, Zoom)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy for SureStart and Dr. Taniya Mishra’s platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok)
  • Create engaging, original content (text, images, videos) tailored to different audiences and platforms
  • Analyze social media performance metrics and provide regular reports to the team to optimize campaigns and inform strategy
  • Stay updated on social media trends, tools, and best practices to keep our brand relevant and impactful
  • Foster community engagement, responding to comments and messages to build strong relationships with followers
  • Research and identify high-impact edtech and AI events for SureStart to participate in
  • Submit proposals for Dr. Taniya Mishra’s speaking engagements, ensuring alignment with SureStart’s mission and brand
  • Coordinate logistics for speaking engagements, ensuring smooth execution of SureStart’s participation
  • With the support of the team, plan, promote, and execute all in-person and virtual events, including webinars, conferences, and student events
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align event goals with overall marketing strategies
  • Support in the creation of promotional materials, event agendas, and communication plans to ensure event success
  • Maintain a calendar of key target events, deadlines, and opportunities to maximize visibility
  • Manage event budgets, logistics, and vendor relationships
  • Track and analyze event performance to identify areas for improvement and ROI
  • Assist in developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns
  • Collaborate with the SureStart team and designer to produce high-quality marketing materials
  • Contribute to email marketing campaigns and newsletters to support event and social media initiatives
  • Conduct market research to identify audience preferences and trends

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with paid social media campaigns
  • Familiarity with the edtech ecosystem and K-12 education trends

Benefits

  • Part time remote position at 20 hours per week, with potential to grow to full time role
  • Pay is $25-30 per hour and is determined based on relevant experience and qualifications
