Social Media Intern

Summary

Join charity: water UK as a Social Media Intern and help grow their UK Instagram channel. You will create engaging content, collaborate with partners, and increase awareness of the water crisis. Reporting to the Brand Partnerships and Marketing Manager, you will work with the UK team and external partners. This is a 6-month, paid internship (\u00a31,983 per month), working 5 days a week with occasional evening work. The role is remote, but requires eligibility to work in the UK and may involve occasional in-person meetings in London or elsewhere in the UK. The internship focuses on social media content creation, digital engagement, and brand awareness.

Requirements

• A passion for social media and eagerness to learn the ins and outs of digital content
• Experience using Canva (or similar tools) to design compelling visuals
• Demonstrated experience running social media accounts (personal or professional)
• A self-starting attitude with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Strong attention to detail and a willingness to refine and improve
• A good design instinct and natural storytelling ability
• Reliable internet and a quiet space for remote working

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of our UK organic social media strategy
• Create content that aligns with brand tone and audience interests
• Shoot, edit, and post content for Instagram
• Collaborate with our in-house team and creative agency to ideate fresh content
• Monitor engagement and help grow our online community
• Assist with reporting on performance metrics and trends
• Maintain content calendars and social workflow

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Mac and Google Workspace
• Familiarity with social media scheduling or listening tools like Sprout Social
• Ability to interpret basic analytics and metrics
• Exposure to research or data collection in a marketing context
