Social Media Intern

Summary

Join the Sierra Club Florida Chapter as a Social Media Intern and contribute to environmental protection efforts. This remote, part-time internship (up to 20 hours/week for 4 months) focuses on creating engaging social media content. You will collect and create digital materials, draft posts, monitor trends, and support volunteers. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication and design skills, social media expertise, and a passion for environmental advocacy. Compensation is $18/hour. The position is temporary and non-exempt.

Requirements

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Graphic and video design skills (i.e. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)
• Knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, etc.) and best practices
• Research skills
• Experience, or a strong interest in, environmental protection and grassroots organizing
• Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office and video conferencing
• Good time-management skills
• Commitment to evolution . You are committed to continuously deepening and evolving your own understanding of systems of oppression through study, openness, and humility. And you easily recognize your own relationship to privilege and power, examining and shifting your behaviors as appropriate

• Intern must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Collection of materials (videos, photos, graphics, etc.) for social media use
• Creation of digital communication materials, including but not limited to graphics, videos, templates, and other multimedia content
• Drafting social media posts
• Monitoring social media trends and brainstorming content ideas
• Providing social media support and guidance to SCFL volunteers

Benefits

• $18 - $18 an hour
• The compensation for this position is $18/hour
