Summary
Join the Lightspeed Retail Team in North America as a Software Developer and build software solutions for merchants. You will be part of a dynamic team focused on continuous value delivery and best practices, creating scalable solutions for our customers. The role involves working with the S-Series squad, a small team based in Europe and Canada, requiring candidates located in Canada and available during EST/EDT hours. You will develop and maintain the S-Series retail product using various technologies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and write clean, efficient code. The ideal candidate has experience in software development, a strong sense of ownership, and a passion for continuous improvement. Requirements
- Experience developing and shipping production-grade software
- A strong sense of ownership of your features
- Ability to analyse production environments, incidents and performance characteristics
- Passion for learning new things and a desire to continuously improve
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality software projects on time
Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining our S-Series retail product using Ruby-on-Rails, NodeJS, Python and React
- Collaborating with product managers, developers and stakeholders as part of a cross-functional team to deliver features and functionality
- Writing code that is clean, tested, maintainable, and efficient
- Extending your own skills by learning from and growing with the team
- Helping us all celebrate our achievements and have fun together along the way!
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Ruby, Javascript/Typescript or Python
- Knowledge of front-end (React preferred)
- Experience with relational (SQL) databases
- Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Experience working in an Agile development environment
- Real-time messaging systems, e.g. Kafka
