Software Development Engineer

Summary

Join GoDaddy's Search Engine Result Page (SERP) team as a full-stack engineer and contribute to a major revenue generator. This hands-on role involves writing efficient, maintainable code, primarily in TypeScript, participating in the full software development lifecycle, and collaborating with various teams. You will own outcomes, ensuring high-quality code and light DevOps responsibilities. The position requires strong web technology fundamentals, experience with modern JS frameworks, and DevOps understanding. You will also contribute to open-source projects and mentor junior developers. This is a remote position with occasional office visits.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of the fundamentals of core web technologies: Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript (ES2015+), CSS3, and HTML5
• Experience with a modern JS/front-end framework like React or Angular
• Experience with DevOps and understanding what deployment means using systems like GitHub action, webpack, docker, AWS, Artifactory
• 3+ years of professional software development experience

Responsibilities

• Write efficient, maintainable code primarily in TypeScript, validated with unit and integration tests
• Participate in planning, architecting, implementing, and maintaining our client and server code
• Review your teammates' code, help define high standards, and look for ways to improve the overall quality of our codebase
• Own outcomes, releasing high-quality code such that your team's DevOps on-call responsibilities remain light
• Contribute back to Open-Source projects (See more GoDaddy open source at github.io .) related to the tech stack and domain of our products. Work fearlessly, try new things, and share your failures and successes with the team
• Join forces, coaching/pairing junior developers in the team and helping them growth

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with client and server performance (RUM) profiling and optimization
• Experience with vibe coding by using tool like Cursor AI
• Experience managing or contributing to open source is a plus
• Experience with experimentation systems such as A/B or multivariate testing
