Summary

Lightly is seeking a Software Engineer with experience in C++ or Rust to work on their LightlyEdge product, which identifies important images directly on devices with a camera. The engineer will design new features, collaborate with Machine Learning Engineers, and uphold high engineering standards.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Excellent coding skills and previous experience with one of Rust or C++
• Willingness to learn Rust, C++, and Python
• Knowledge of software engineering and software design best practices, e.g., code review, testing, continuous integration
• Interest in new technologies
• A creative, collaborative, and product-focused mindset

Responsibilities

• Build and improve the LightlyEdge product that detects important images directly on devices with a camera
• Design new features to solve customer needs
• Work across the stack in Rust, C++, and Python
• Contribute to our automated building and testing pipeline
• Collaborate with Machine Learning Engineers to productionize ML models
• Uphold high engineering standards and bring consistency to the codebase, infrastructure, and processes

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with a multi-platform build system in C++ or Rust is an advantage
