Software Engineer

Summary

Join MOO's Order Fulfilment Network (OFN) platform team as a Software Engineer and contribute to the seamless connection of customer orders to manufacturing partners. You will build and maintain core backend services, enhance system reliability, and participate in design discussions. This role involves working with Java and TypeScript, improving monitoring and alerting, and collaborating with internal and external teams. The position is UK remote-only, requiring occasional travel to London. The team prioritizes high-quality code, collaboration, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.

• AWS and event-driven, serverless architectures

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and deploy backend services using Java (primarily) and TypeScript, as part of a cross-functional, agile team
• Improve system reliability through better monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code to support fulfilment workflows
• Pair with senior engineers on architecture, design, and troubleshooting
• Take part in design sessions and contribute to scalable technical decisions
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support new product launches and vendor integrations
• Continuously improve engineering practices—refining CI/CD pipelines, enhancing observability, and optimising developer experience

• TypeScript, SAM, or Python
• MES systems (e.g. Tulip)
• ECommerce, manufacturing, shipping or fulfilment
• Agile methodologies and cross-functional collaboration
