Software Engineer DevOps

Summary

The job is for a DevOps Engineer at Wave who will manage the infrastructure of small businesses, focusing on reliability, improvement, innovation, performance optimization, strategic projects, and security. The role requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 3+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure roles, proficiency with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, relational databases, monitoring tools, and security principles. Additional preferred qualifications include certifications like AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes Certified Administrator.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Infrastructure role, with a strong focus on cloud environments

Responsibilities

• Ensure the robustness, security, and scalability of our infrastructure by proactively identifying and resolving potential issues before they impact our services
• Collaborate with product teams to refine and optimize deployment pipelines, reducing friction and increasing deployment frequency while maintaining high standards of security and quality
• Spearhead the development and refinement of cloud-native developer environments, enabling engineers to innovate faster and more efficiently within a fully integrated cloud ecosystem
• Analyze and improve the performance of our systems, ensuring our services remain fast, secure, and cost-effective as we scale, while continuously seeking opportunities to optimize cloud spending
• Participate in and sometimes lead critical projects, such as system migrations or architecture redesigns, that shape the future of our infrastructure and development practices

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications (Preferred): AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes Certified Administrator (CKA), or other relevant certifications
