Software Engineer II, Remote - United States

Summary

We have an opening for a Software Engineer in our Infrastructure team focused on improving scalability and reliability of Temporal’s core infrastructure. This role requires experience in cloud, compute, networking, and storage infrastructure, excellent collaboration skills, and at least 3 years coding experience.

Requirements

• Experience contributing to complex cross-team engineering efforts focused on cloud, compute, networking and storage infrastructure
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Comfortable driving alignment across an organization and contributing to long-term roadmaps
• Demonstrated ability to make system-level tradeoffs
• At least 3 years coding experience (Go, Java, or other applicable language) and experience writing concurrent code
• Experience designing distributed systems and using concurrency primitives
• Deep experience in at least one infrastructure and familiarity with adjacencies
• Hands-on experience with one or more cloud providers, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure

Responsibilities

• Invent: Build systems that optimize cloud use and scale for expansion. Contribute to system architecture and execution
• Own: Develop effective partnerships across engineering and product teams. Collaborate across teams to keep roadmaps aligned
• Own: Perform design reviews for multiple projects with a focus on infrastructure scalability and reliability
• Own: Partner with Security to build ‘secure by default’ systems
• Own: Engage with stakeholders and customers to help understand their requirements and enable their business
