Summary
Join Twilio as a Software Engineer to develop the future of communications. This role focuses on building and optimizing the SMS connectivity layer, involving the development of a complex distributed platform in Java. You will be responsible for design, development, testing, and deployment of features, ensuring code quality, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The position requires experience with Java frameworks, cloud services, and strong computer science fundamentals. The role is remote from Estonia or based in the Tallinn office, with occasional travel. Requirements
- 1+ years of experience with Java frameworks such as Dropwizard, Spring, Hibernate, or similar
- Experience with cloud services (AWS preferred, Google, Azure etc.)
- Strong Computer Science fundamentals not limited to data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems
- Knowledge of processes and engineering best practices in all phases of the software development life cycle
- Readiness to participate in the on-call rotation
- Strong communication skills and desire to make an impact and thrive in small, collaborative, energetic teams
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and deploy features alongside an experienced, distributed collaborative team
- Participating in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards
- Work independently to troubleshoot/determine resolution for issues in your team's domain
- Managing your work through the use of Github, Jira, and our build/deploy systems
- Ensure quality by writing unit-, integration- and load-tests
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with microservice architecture
- Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
