Summary

Join Accompany Health's Engineering team as a passionate Engineering Intern for a 3-4 month internship! This full-time or part-time role offers hands-on experience in software development, data engineering, and system architecture within a fast-paced healthcare tech environment. You will collaborate with experienced engineers, developing and enhancing the platform while gaining exposure to industry best practices and modern technologies. The internship includes working on healthcare software applications, writing efficient code, debugging, collaborating with cross-functional teams, researching emerging technologies, participating in Agile processes, ensuring compliance standards, and documenting technical processes. Potential for full-time employment is available based on performance. The hourly rate is $30-$35.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Familiarity with Python, Java, Javascript, or other programming languages
  • Understanding of software development principles, data structures, and algorithms
  • Basic knowledge of databases (SQL, or NoSQL) and version control (Git)
  • Strong problem solving skills and a willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, and testing of healthcare software applications
  • Write clean, maintained, and efficient code under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, security, and compliance teams
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies, tools, and best practices relevant to healthcare technology
  • Participate in Agile development processes, including stand-ups, code reviews, and sprint planning
  • Ensure adherence to industry security, and regulatory compliance standards (e.g. HIPAA)
  • Document technical processes, workflows, and development progress
  • Organize and lead staff training programs on IT systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with web development frameworks, APIs, or cloud computing (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus
  • Prior internship or project experience in healthcare, machine learning, or cybersecurity is a plus, but not required
