Requirements

  • Proven experience leading a team of developers in roles such as scrum master, project manager, product owner, technical lead, manager, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated expertise in team building, coaching, and performance management
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices
  • A high-level understanding of Emergent Software's Development Stack (C#, .NET, SQL Server, Azure, React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven record of building strong relationships
  • Confidence in leading meetings and speaking in front of virtual groups

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate a culture of technical and leadership growth, knowledge sharing, high-quality standards, and strong client relationships
  • Manage HR aspects, including 1:1s, consistent feedback, performance reviews, goal setting, benefits management, and conflict resolution
  • Allocate team members to projects, maximizing skill alignment, growth goals, and productivity
  • Build and foster cohesive project teams, promoting peer mentorship and collaboration
  • Function as an escalation point to resolve project issues and unblock work
  • Actively participate in the sales process by engaging with prospective clients through direct meetings and/or by providing guidance and coaching during team-led sales calls
  • Balance your team's priorities between client work, personal growth, and internal initiatives
  • Collaborate with recruiters and potential candidates to create job openings and evaluate candidates
  • Serve as a product owner for internal tools built and maintained by your team
  • Communicate company values, news, and initiatives effectively
  • Relay developers' feedback and concerns to executive leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience writing code as a professional software engineer
  • Experience in technology consulting or building custom applications for external clients
