Summary
Join ExtraHop, a leader in network detection and response (NDR) technology, as a Software Quality Engineer II. You will design, develop, and execute test cases, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and advocate for quality improvements throughout the SDLC. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, 2+ years of software quality engineering experience, proficiency in Linux, and scripting skills. Requirements
- Bachelorโs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a STEM-related field requiring systematic/analytical thinking
- 2+ years of experience in software quality engineering or scripting
- A curious mindset, with a strong ability to analyze and debug software issues - an engineer with a passion for testing who likes to knows why things break
- Proficiency in Linux OS and familiarity with scripting languages
- Experience with an issue tracking systems (e.g. JIRA, Bugzilla, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute test cases and scenarios for software applications in an agile environment
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure the quality of software products
- Maintain and update scripted tooling for data generation
- Conduct end-to-end application testing across hardware, virtual and cloud environments
- Advocate for โShift Leftโ quality to identify and address issues early in the design, code, and development process
- Continuously enhance testing processes and expand test coverage
- Document and track defects to resolution using JIRA or similar issue-tracking tools
- Manage and configure test environments for optimal performance
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes
- Experience in test framework development and maintenance
- Cybersecurity experience and/or an interest in security testing
- Experience in Test Framework development and maintenance
- Background in Cloud and/or other virtualization technologies
- Familiarity with networking, databases, and coding/scripting (e.g., Python, JavaScript, etc.)
- Understanding of application protocols (e.g., SSH, HTTPS, CIFS, etc.)
