Summary
Join Nexamp's New England Business Development team as a Project Developer! You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of solar project development, from origination to construction. This role requires 3+ years of experience in solar and energy storage or a comparable field, strong project development skills, and excellent communication abilities. Requirements
- Have three or more years of solar and storage or comparable industry experience in a business development role, with a successful track record in project development and stakeholder management
- Possess strong skills in site origination and pipeline development across industries, including commercial real estate, telecom, or renewable energy
- Be an effective team leader and collaborator
- Have a Bachelorβs Degree or equivalent experience
- Demonstrate a commitment to Nexamp's mission and have a passion for solving tomorrow's climate crisis today
- Demonstrate experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization
- Demonstrate experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization. Value accountability and an ownership mentality
- Have the ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions
- Have expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry
- Show eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for all phases of solar project development, from origination to start of construction
- Originate and develop distributed solar and energy storage projects, simultaneously managing site origination, permitting, interconnection, tax negotiation, revenue contracting, and other development activities
- Negotiate complex contracts with private, commercial and municipal counterparties
- Close coordination with junior business development staff to develop and implement effective lead campaign strategies
- Develop long-term relationships with property owners, energy users and other project stakeholders
- Effectively communicate with project stakeholders and community members to facilitate project permitting and other initiatives
- Foster support from state, county and local governments, community groups and project abutters
- Manage external consultants as needed in conjunction with project permitting activities
- Actively manage development schedule and budget to ensure timely and cost-effective solutions
- Support internal finance, engineering, and construction teams to facilitate successful project financing and construction
- Develop sales presentations, proposals and other materials as needed to support project development efforts
