Requirements

  • Have three or more years of solar and storage or comparable industry experience in a business development role, with a successful track record in project development and stakeholder management
  • Possess strong skills in site origination and pipeline development across industries, including commercial real estate, telecom, or renewable energy
  • Be an effective team leader and collaborator
  • Have a Bachelorโ€™s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Nexamp's mission and have a passion for solving tomorrow's climate crisis today
  • Demonstrate experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization

  • Show eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for all phases of solar project development, from origination to start of construction
  • Originate and develop distributed solar and energy storage projects, simultaneously managing site origination, permitting, interconnection, tax negotiation, revenue contracting, and other development activities
  • Negotiate complex contracts with private, commercial and municipal counterparties
  • Close coordination with junior business development staff to develop and implement effective lead campaign strategies
  • Develop long-term relationships with property owners, energy users and other project stakeholders
  • Effectively communicate with project stakeholders and community members to facilitate project permitting and other initiatives
  • Foster support from state, county and local governments, community groups and project abutters
  • Manage external consultants as needed in conjunction with project permitting activities
  • Actively manage development schedule and budget to ensure timely and cost-effective solutions
  • Support internal finance, engineering, and construction teams to facilitate successful project financing and construction
  • Develop sales presentations, proposals and other materials as needed to support project development efforts
