Solutions Architect

Summary

The job involves working with project managers and product owners to define technical requirements and deliverables, providing feedback into backlog grooming process, developing technical architecture documentation, and ensuring delivered items align with the architecture and designs. The candidate should have at least 5 years of experience as a software architect, in an agile environment, and with issue tracking products. They must effectively cope with change, communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and have a passion for architecting technical solutions and developing clear technical requirements. The position is based onsite in Toronto for up to 3 days a week and is a temporary contractor role for one year.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a software architect
• 5+ years of working in an agile based software development environment
• 5+ years of experience with issue and bug tracking products (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
• Works with others to deliver results, meaningfully contributing to the team and prioritizing group needs over individual needs
• Effectively copes with change, finding ways to advance work and projects
• Uses an organized and logical approach to finding solutions to complex problems, looking beyond the obvious to understand the root cause of the problem, and proposes several possible solutions
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, proven ability and experience in communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Working with the Project Manager to understand the priority of deliverables
• Working with each of the product owners to define the technical requirements and deliverables that each scrum team will execute against
• Providing feedback into the backlog grooming process
• Developing technical architecture documentation along with defining technical requirements to achieve desired business objectives
• Work with each of the Scrum teams to ensure provided deliverables are achieved to the architecture and required designs
• Provide leadership and direction when questions arise in technical situations to ensure security and quality are at the forefront
