Summary
Join dbt Labs as a Solutions Architect on the West Coast team and drive customer success. Lead technical evaluations, deliver compelling demos, and serve as a trusted advisor throughout the customer journey. Work closely with large, strategic accounts, helping them unlock value from dbt and scale their analytics practices. Design modern, enterprise-scale data architectures using dbt Cloud, partner with Sales, lead proof-of-concept engagements, and work with engineering to deploy dbt Cloud in private clouds. Manage the full customer lifecycle, collaborate with Product and Engineering, enable strategic partners, and engage in the dbt Community.
Requirements
- 6+ years of sales engineering, solutions architecture, or consulting in data operations, analytics, or BI
- Proven hands-on experience with SQL, ETL, and data modeling
- Strong understanding of modern data stacks and cloud data warehousing
- Effective communicatorโable to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Ability to gather and translate technical and business requirements into concrete solutions
- Excellent written, and in-person communication skills to discuss complex topics with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Adaptable in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities
- A passion for being an inclusive teammate and involved member of the community
Responsibilities
- Design modern, enterprise-scale data architectures using dbt Cloud
- Partner with Sales to demonstrate the technical value of dbt Labs solutions
- Lead proof-of-concept engagements and technical evaluations for prospective customers
- Work with engineering to deploy dbt Cloud in private clouds for enterprise clients
- Manage the full customer lifecycle, from pre-sales through onboarding and adoption
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to influence the enterprise roadmap
- Enable strategic partners (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, AWS) in their implementation of dbt
- Engage in the dbt Community and contribute to thought leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working at an analytics, ETL, BI, and/or open-sourced software
- Knowledge of or prior experience with dbt
- Familiarity with modeling approaches like dimensional modeling, Data Vault, or 3NF
- Background in legacy ETL tooling (Informatica, Talend, Boomi)
