Summary
Join Instructure as a K12 Solutions Engineer (SE) and leverage your education technology expertise to support sales and drive new deals. You will work closely with Regional Sales Directors, providing technical and instructional guidance on our learning platform. As the primary knowledge resource for our technology solutions, you will manage the technology evaluation stage of the sales process and act as a trusted advisor to prospective clients. This remote position requires up to 60% travel, with preference given to candidates in the Mountain or Pacific Time zones. You will develop engaging product demonstrations, communicate complex concepts effectively, and collaborate with team members. Instructure offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
Requirements
- Edu experience, preferably in leadership at a school, district or state level. Or preferably in a technical sales capacity at an EdTech company
- A strong understanding of instructional best practice and of digital tools that support best practice
- Technical understanding of education technology, web technology, mobile technology, systems integration, SaaS, student information systems, APIs, etc
- Articulate and dynamic presentation skills with the ability to present to a wide range of stakeholders, both virtually and face to face in casual and high stakes scenarios
- Organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches
- Self-motivated, self-reliant, collaborative, and communicative
- Thrive in a fast paced environment
- Must be a team player
- Must be prepared for extensive travel (up to 60% at peak periods)
Responsibilities
- Position the Instructure Learning Platform as a product (and as a partner) to all stakeholders, from shallow to deep, from storytelling to technical deep-dives
- Develop and deliver tailored product demonstrations that are simple but engaging
- Effectively communicate complex education and technology concepts and practices to a variety of stakeholders β e.g. telling a compelling story to educators and administrators, as well as leading credible, in-depth technical discussions with information technology experts
- Act as trusted strategic and technical advisor with our prospective customers, thoughtfully considering customer vision and needs to design the best solution
- Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs
- Coach and mentor fellow team members on all things edu, both in the field and via planned professional development opportunities
- Track progress on projects through consistent record-keeping and knowledge-sharing

- This position will include a commission structure taking the OTE to a range of $118k-150k
