Summary

Sporty is seeking an experienced Sports Media Product Manager to lead the development of Sporty.com, SportyTV’s OTT platform, and other strategic media projects. The role requires a strong background in product management within the sports technology industry with a focus on football, sports news, live scores, and sports broadcasting via OTT platforms.

Requirements

  • Industry Expertise: 7+ years of product management experience within the sports betting, sports media, or sports technology industries, with a strong focus on football, live scores, and OTT sports broadcasting
  • Business Acumen: Proven ability to balance business goals with product development, ensuring that product decisions align with broader commercial objectives
  • Leadership Skills: Experience in leading cross-functional teams, managing stakeholders, and driving product initiatives from concept to launch
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with web and mobile development processes, including agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA. Understanding of sports media, OTT platforms and sports broadcasting technologies
  • Analytical Skills: Strong data-driven decision-making skills, with experience in using analytics tools like Google Analytics, Firebase, or similar to track and optimise product performance
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Portuguese and/or French and/or Spanish speakers would be a plus
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field. An advanced degree or MBA is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a clear product vision and strategy for Sporty.com , SportyTV’s OTT platform (including SmartTV) and related media projects, aligning with the company’s overall business goals
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, technology, and business development, to ensure product alignment with market demands and business objectives
  • Lead the product lifecycle from concept to launch, including defining product requirements, creating user stories, and managing the product backlog
  • Conduct thorough market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation in the sports betting and media space
  • Work closely with UX/UI designers to create intuitive and engaging user experiences for both web and mobile platforms
  • Partner with engineering teams to ensure the successful implementation of product features
  • Monitor product performance using analytics tools, and adjust strategies to optimise user engagement, retention, and revenue growth
  • Lead and mentor a team of product managers, ensuring they are aligned with the product vision and business goals
