Join Autism Speaks as an Events Intern for a 10-12 week remote spring semester program! This role offers valuable event planning experience within the development team, assisting with New York Area Events like golf outings, special events, and walks. The intern will gain skills in event timelines, planning processes, and community outreach. The position reports to the Area Executive Director and requires a commitment to a flexible 20-hour work week. Successful candidates will possess strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media technologies. Applicants must be pursuing a bachelor's degree, eligible for academic credit, and reside in downstate New York.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelorβs degree
- Able to receive class credit
- Commitment to a flexible work schedule of 20 hours per week during standard business hours
- Superior organizational and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to take initiative
- Excellent customer service skills in dealing with internal and external constituents
- Must have the ability to work with a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Social Media Technology
- This is a remote position, but applicant must live in downstate New York (Westchester or New York City)
Responsibilities
- Assist with event logistics for events across downstate New York
- Assist in donor, sponsor and volunteer outreach and stewardship
- Assist with school outreach
- Assist with Area marketing and communications, including email and social media content
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Assist with two (2) silent auctions
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate should be looking to gain experience in Non-Profit Special Events for future work
