Summary

Oportun is looking for an execution-focused Email Campaign Manager to assist in managing customer communications campaigns. The person will be responsible for building multichannel campaigns, segmenting customer data, documenting processes, recommending improvements, and ensuring a top-tier customer experience. They must have 2+ years of professional experience in relevant fields, strong communication skills, and experience with HTML & CSS.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience in relevant field of work (email marketing, marketing automation, digital marketing, performance marketing etc.) minimum; 4+ years of professional experience preferred
  • Experience developing with HTML & CSS, preferably experience with coding specifically for email
  • Ability to work on multiple projects, sometimes with competing priorities and overlapping timelines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Clear, robust documentation is a must
  • Experience setting up audiences, campaigns, and workflows with an ESP/marketing automation platform (e.g. Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Responsys, Cordial, Iterable, HubSpot, etc.)
  • Knowledge of best practices for email optimization across all major clients
  • Detail oriented with the ability to utilize strong trouble-shooting skills and quickly adjust to shifting priorities
  • Confidence in ability to work independently, to offer ideas, to ask questions when they need to be asked, and to speak up when something needs attention

Responsibilities

  • Develop and update HTML email templates and create dynamic content for personalization
  • Build and launch email, SMS, and direct mail campaigns in our marketing automation platform
  • Use basic design skills/thinking: create inviting email template layouts within our email design system
  • Create audience segmentation and manipulate data based on filter criteria
  • Document processes and campaign execution
  • Recommend improvements to our platform, program, and processes
  • Be an advocate for a top-tier customer experience
  • Evaluate how to improve our execution processes (QA, creative development, approvals, etc.)
  • Monitor program performance daily and call out the issues before they become issues
