Summary

This role is a legal position in BitGo's commercial agreements team, focusing on custody, trading, and staking services primarily in APAC, MENA, and EMEA regions. The job involves negotiating contracts, drafting terms of use and disclaimers, managing legal risks, and supporting corporate governance.

Requirements

  • Law degree from a recognized university in the US / UK / Singapore/ Hong Kong or any other relevant jurisdiction
  • 4+ years PQE experience in a top-tier law firm with exposure to international legal systems and ways of doing business and/or in-house legal experience at an international financial services or crypto company, ideally involving customer-facing sales, trading, and/or custody
  • At least 3 years of transactions experience at a law firm
  • Strong understanding of how key terms are used in contracts, and how they are used to allocate risks associated with a business arrangement
  • Ability to draft complex legal clauses and manage transactions with sophisticated institutional counterparties and outside law firms
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to assess and balance legal risks against business interests

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate contracts for digital asset custody, consulting services, partnerships, non-disclosure agreements in Europe, MENA, and APAC region
  • Draft and negotiate bespoke contracts for first-of-their-kind products and services with limited precedent
  • Draft terms of use and disclaimers
  • Work closely with sales, product, regulatory, compliance, product development, and marketing teams
  • Help with due diligence requests related to transactions
  • Manage legal and regulatory risks in a thoughtful and commercially practicable manner
  • Help develop and drive legal contracting process and operations including workflows, customer contracting lifecycle, pipeline management, and document retention
  • Support corporate governance
  • Escalate issues to senior team members as appropriate
  • Pitch in whenever and wherever needed, even when not directly related to responsibilities described above

  • Good understanding of blockchain and digital assets
  • Flexible, ‘can-do’ attitude and willingness to learn
  • Excellent English language and drafting skills
