Summary
The Senior Image Processing Engineer role involves working on the entire life cycle of data classification algorithms and image processing for medical imaging, including developing methods for feature extraction and classification, target detection and tracking, video georeferencing, implementing an image processing system, enhancing software, and creating real 3D images. The role requires 5 years of experience in the development and integration of complex imaging systems and/or medical image diagnosis software, a B.S. in Computer Science or related field, and specific experience with DICOM standards and tools.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in the development and integration of complex imaging systems and/or medical image diagnosis software
- Experience in developing with C # and/or C++
- 3 years of DICOM development and troubleshooting experience
- Strong knowledge (3 years or more) of DICOM standards, having developed or extended servers such as dcm4che, Orthanc, etc
- Prior experience developing healthcare components (PACS, VNA, RIS) and workflows
- Experience with one or more of DICOM, HL7 is a plus
- Experience building DICOM-based integrations using IHE XDS standards for interoperability across healthcare systems
- Experience with DICOM tools like DCMTK/JDICOM/OpenDICOM
- Experience debugging native dlls, binary formats is a plus
- Prior work on containers, Kubernetes is a plus
- B.S. in Computer Science or related field. An M.S. or Ph.D. is a plus
Responsibilities
- Analyze data and write reports
- Develop methods for feature extraction and classification
- Research basic to advanced image processing algorithms
- Give presentations and create visual interpretations of data
- Work on target detection and tracking
- Implement video georeferencing
- Develop an image processing system
- Enhance new software
- Create algorithms for real 3D images and accurate wireless tracking
