Staff Accountant

Summary

The job is for a Staff Accountant at Avero, a technology partner for the hospitality industry. The role involves reconciling account balances, maintaining the general ledger, preparing month-end closing procedures, and other accounting tasks. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or financial reporting.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, finance operations, and financial reporting
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or relevant; MBA or CPA is a plus
• Experience with software and technology companies necessary, including SaaS and/or recurring revenue financials and common SaaS metrics

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of invoicing, receivable, and collection process
• Manage vendor and payment process
• Assist with day-to-day accounting and balance sheet reconciliation
• Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities
• Perform daily and monthly treasury tasks (i.e., weekly payment runs, manual wire payments, posting of manual payments to the general ledger, daily cash reconciliation, and other treasury tasks as needed)
• Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
• Participate in financial standards setting
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
