Staff Accountant

Summary

The Staff Accountant will manage the day-to-day execution of all payment cycle activities, including processing invoices, employee expenses, credit card transactions, and participating in month end activities. This role requires a university or college degree in Finance or Accounting, two years of experience in a similar role, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, excellent time management skills, attention to detail, customer service skills, communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Requirements

• University or college degree in Finance or Accounting
• Two years of experience in a similar role at a high growth or publicly owned company
• Proficiency in handling accounts payable processes
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for managing and analyzing data
• Exceptional customer service skills and work well in a team environment
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the accounts payable cycle by receiving, verifying, and processing invoices
• Act as a point of contact for vendor accounts to resolve any accounts payable issues
• Assist in weekly settlement of accounts payable via EFT/ACH and wire
• Review, reconcile and settle monthly credit card statements
• Process employee expense reports and communicate with employees to obtain any missing or inaccurate information
• Create journal entries related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, and month end related activities as required
• Complete monthly cash and accounts payable related account reconciliations
• Assist Corporate Accounting team with month end accrual documentation
• Assist with internal and external audit requests

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Navan, Zip, and NetSuite or WorkDay or similar software is considered a strong asset
