Staff Accountant

Summary

The job is for a Staff Accountant at Voleon, a technology company that applies machine learning to real-world problems in finance. The role involves managing financial operations and processes for the company's US and international businesses. The employee will report to the Finance Director and work with senior executives on critical accounting and budgeting processes.

Requirements

• 2+ years in public or private accounting
• Understanding of US GAAP
• Proficient with enterprise-level accounting software such as Workday, SAP, Oracle and Quickbooks
• Excellent MS Excel skills

Responsibilities

• Book accruals, transactions, and entries in the accounting software
• Ensure all incoming invoices are received and processed and communicate with internal stakeholders on receiving appropriate approvals
• Perform weekly, bi-weekly and monthly reconciliations for internal records, banks, and credit card systems
• Support the team in closing month-end financials statements
• Assist with annual audit processes such as updating and maintaining supporting schedules
• Collaborate on updating the annual functional team budgets
• Help maintain active registrations for management company entities
• Assist with bespoke projects to improve our management company finances operations and processes
