Summary

Valdes Architecture & Engineering Company is seeking a Project Accountant with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 2+ years of experience in project accounting. The role involves managing areas such as Project Accounting, Invoicing, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable. Responsibilities include supporting timely financial reporting, contributing to the development and implementation of new procedures, and working with Engineering Project Managers to monitor budgets on projects. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• 2+ years’ experience in project accounting

Responsibilities

• Responsible for one or more areas of accounting such as Project Accounting, Invoicing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable
• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the Company’s financial reporting and general ledger structure
• Support and contribute to timely reporting of all monthly financial/accounting information
• Support and contribute in accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close process
• Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to other staff members
• Support and contribute to development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
• Support Director of Accounting and Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements
• Work with Engineering Project Managers to monitor budgets on projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an engineering, architectural or project based environment a plus
• Experience with Deltek ERP/Project Management systems or other project management software
