Remote Staff Accountant

Summary

Join Avero as a Staff Accountant and take ownership of invoicing, receivable, and collection process, manage vendor and payment process, assist with day-to-day accounting and balance sheet reconciliation, and more.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, finance operations, and financial reporting
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or relevant; MBA or CPA is a plus
• Experience with software and technology companies necessary, including SaaS and/or recurring revenue financials and common SaaS metrics
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures, understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and familiarity with financial accounting statements
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Knowledge of financial modeling (i.e., Excel) and experience with NetSuite or other financial or budgeting systems
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently towards goals

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of invoicing, receivable, and collection process
• Manage vendor and payment process
• Assist with day-to-day accounting and balance sheet reconciliation
• Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities
• Perform daily and monthly treasury tasks (i.e., weekly payment runs, manual wire payments, posting of manual payments to the general ledger, daily cash reconciliation, and other treasury tasks as needed)
• Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
• Participate in financial standards setting
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
