Requirements

  • Critical mindset and autonomy. You will be contributing to identifying what needs to be done to achieve our unit goals
  • Able to effectively communicate in English complex technical concepts to different disciplines (designers, support team, other engineers). You will have a higher impact by influencing others to follow your technical decisions than if you try to do everything yourself
  • You have experience with large scale web applications with an economic thinking mindset
  • Demonstrated expertise working with Front End technologies
  • Passionate about TDD/BDD, and you're not shy about it
  • Experience building Javascript apps using React and Next.js
  • Good understanding of Front end Architectures and focus on performance (server-side and client-side)
  • Used to work with CI/CD practices, RESTful APIs, and AWS

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain scalable platforms by developing products with billions of page views per month, impacting users globally
  • Tackle technical challenges in collaboration with engineers across European offices to solve intricate issues, amplifying your impact for millions of customers
  • Own the development process end-to-end by engaging in product design discussions, writing and reviewing code, and ensuring quality and strategic alignment throughout
  • Advocate for product quality, security, and performance enhancements that significantly impact your team and cross-functional teams
  • Embrace a DevOps mentality with a focus on seamless delivery by integrating development and operations practices
  • Contribute to our European engineering community by participating actively in our guilds and decision-making processes
  • Shape team objectives by collaborating with product managers to define and achieve team OKRs
  • Support and unblock development and operations teams in triaging and resolving production issues
  • Be a mentor and role model by guiding and mentoring fellow engineers, elevating standards, tools, processes, and fostering a positive culture
  • Foster a feedback culture where seeking, receiving, and giving feedback is a shared and valued practice

Preferred Qualifications

  • You're tech-savvy, active in open source communities to find the latest solutions in the market
  • Experience in technical coaching and mentorship, as well as technical leadership. As a Staff Engineer, other Engineers will look up to you, and you should be able to lead by example
