Staff Product Designer

Summary

Join our team as a Staff Product Designer and take ownership of key initiatives, work collaboratively with partners, and drive it to success with a clear vision and strategy. You will be responsible for crafting best-in-class journeys for Algolia users by designing and shipping high-quality user interfaces, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, creating clear and impactful designs, prototypes, and documents, assessing the usability, viability, and feasibility of Algolia's products and features, and providing guidance and support to developers and product teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years product design experience
• Strong understanding of visual design, typography, color, and hierarchy
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, as you’ll collaborate across the organization at all levels
• Experience leading cross-team/org-wide initiatives
• You must have experience deeply collaborating with product and engineering teams
• Strong communicator of design work and your rationale behind proposals

Responsibilities

• Designing and shipping high-quality user interfaces, including interaction design, information architecture, visual design, and prototyping
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align and execute on shared business goals through user-centric work
• Creating clear and impactful designs, prototypes, and documents to align expectations, goals, and guidelines across teams
• Be a strong partner in assessing the usability, viability, and feasibility of Algolia’s products and features
• Collaborating with other Product Designers to ensure a cohesive customer experience across different Algolia products and features
• Providing guidance and support to developers and product teams across the business

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior work experience on a developer-first product
• Passion for working collaboratively across a dynamic, international workspace
